Reuniting lost pets with their owners
When a lost dog or cat is turned over to South Hills Cooperative Animal Control (SHCAC)
by the Carnegie Police Department,
a picture and information about the animal will be posted on this
webpage. Information will remain online until the pet is returned home or turned
over to Animal Friends for adoption. Animal Control will generally hold an animal at its kennel for a week to 10
days.

Control houses lost pets at Clair's Kennel located in Upper St. Clair. If
you recognize a pet posted on this website as your own or you know the owner,
call County Dispatch at 412-279-6911 and ask for Animal Control. Dispatch will relay your message and
Animal Control personnel will get back to you shortly.

There is a dead animal in the neighborhood.
Call the Public Works Department at 412-276-0111
There are rodents on a neighbor’s property.
Call an exterminator for rats and mice. Call the Public Works Department at 412-276-0111 for raccoons, opossum, ground hogs, or skunks.
Animal traps
Animal traps are available from April 1 - October 31. A $60 deposit is required and will be refunded when the trap is returned. All traps must be returned by Friday and will not be accepted during weekends. It is illegal to trap during hibernation November 1 - March 31 or on any Sunday. Call the Public Works Department at 412-276-0111.
