Carnegie Police Department

Police protection for the Borough of Carnegie is provided by the Carnegie Police Department, which also provides protection for the Borough of Pennsbury Village. The Carnegie Police Department is under the direction of the Mayor of the Borough of Carnegie and the Chief of Police.

All officers are certified through the Pennsylvania Municipal Officers' Education and Training Commission and receive yearly mandatory training required to maintain certification. In addition, the Carnegie Police Department (CPD) has a comprehensive in-service training program designed to further the individual skills of police officers and command personnel.

The CPD is also committed to a "Community Policing" philosophy and takes great pride in community involvement and education, providing an email alert program and an online daily log report.

The Carnegie Police Department proudly lives by the following words displayed on the side of the police cruisers: Courage, Professionalism, and Dedication.

Carnegie Borough has been selected to receive funding from the Law Enforcement and Corrections BWC PIP Grant. Awards were announced by PCCD. Recipients are required to work with the BJA-funded BWC training and technical assistance (TTA) provider as part of the policy development process. Agencies must demonstrate appropriate policy development and internal law enforcement adoption prior to BWC procurement and implementation.
