Child Passenger Seat Technician

In our on-going effort to provide a complete range of services to the community, the Carnegie Police Department has two Carnegie Police Officers certified as Child Passenger Safety Technicians.

Detective Dennis M. Lawrence, a 26 year CPD veteran and Officer Matt Rieder, a 9 year CPD veteran completed an intensive 4-day course which allows them to teach parents and caregivers the proper use and installation of child restraints systems and safety belts.

There are many parents and caregivers who have questions about, or need help with properly installing and using child restraint systems. Carnegie residents will now be able to get assistance from Carnegie Police Officers in this extremely important safety matter by contacting Officer Dennis Lawrence at (412) 276-4245 Ext. 1313 or Officer Matt Rieder at (412) 276-4245 Ext. 1330 and making an appointment for an inspection and one-on-one personalized instruction on how to properly use their child's car seat.
